Hyperion Resources was one of the first US oil and gas companies to sign a memorandum of understanding and establish a joint steering committee (JSC) with the Iraqi Ministry of Oil. Prior to the founding of Legacy Investments, Mr. Huddleston managed various family investments in real estate, as well as oil and gas.

He grew up in Maryville, Tennessee in the Foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. His exposure to Appalachia continues to inspire his desire to help others to help themselves, a goal of the Huddleston Community Service Initiative, founded by Albert and Mary Huddleston.
A wing at the Blount Memorial Hospital, in Maryville, was named for Albert Huddleston's grandfather and namesake, A.D.
